About the role
Northbay Systems is modernizing its cloud security posture through a focused hardening initiative. As a Cloud Solutions Architect you will lead the design and implementation of security controls for our flagship SaaS offering, codenamed "Nimbus Shield". The project targets hardened configurations across all cloud‑hosted applications and services.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct a comprehensive threat model for Nimbus Shield and prioritize remediation based on risk impact.
- Design and enforce IAM policies, least‑privilege roles, and service‑mesh security using AWS IAM and OPA.
- Implement automated security scans with Terraform, Checkov, and AWS Config Rules integrated into CI/CD pipelines.
- Architect network segmentation using VPC, security groups, and AWS PrivateLink to isolate sensitive workloads.
- Guide the migration of legacy workloads to containerized environments with Docker and Kubernetes, ensuring compliance with CIS Benchmarks.
- Produce detailed hardening documentation and runbooks for incident response and audit readiness.
Must-have skills
- Deep expertise in AWS architecture, security services, and compliance frameworks.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Hands‑on experience securing Docker containers and Kubernetes clusters.
- Strong background in DevOps pipelines, automated testing, and continuous monitoring.
- Ability to translate security requirements into scalable cloud designs.
Nice to have
- Experience with AWS Security Hub and GuardDuty.
- Familiarity with Zero Trust networking concepts.
