Node.js Developer – Multi-Region API Design

About the role

Northbay Systems is expanding its analytics backbone for operations teams. We need a Node.js Developer to design, implement, and fine‑tune data pipelines that feed real‑time dashboards and reporting tools.

Key responsibilities

• Build scalable ETL pipelines using Node.js and streaming APIs
• Integrate source systems, transform data, and expose REST endpoints for analytics consumption
• Collaborate with data engineers and ops to ensure reliability and low latency
• Write unit and integration tests, and document pipeline architecture
• Monitor performance and troubleshoot issues in production

Must-have skills

• Strong NodeJS experience (3+ years)
• Proficiency with Express and building REST APIs
• Solid JavaScript fundamentals and async patterns
• Understanding of data flow concepts and API security

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud data services (e.g., AWS Kinesis, GCP Pub/Sub)
• Experience with containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines
