About the role
Pinecrest Systems is gearing up for a major app store launch that tightly couples its mobile front‑end with a new backend service layer. As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will drive the infrastructure that powers the "PulseSync" module, ensuring seamless mobile‑to‑backend communication, low latency, and high availability during the release window.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement a CI/CD pipeline in GitHub Actions for PulseSync microservices, integrating unit, integration, and performance tests.
- Containerize Java and Node.js services with Docker, orchestrate them on an EKS cluster, and configure auto‑scaling policies.
- Set up Terraform scripts to provision VPC, RDS, and S3 buckets, maintaining state in a secured backend.
- Implement blue‑green deployment strategies using Argo Rollouts to minimize downtime for the upcoming app release.
- Monitor latency and error rates with CloudWatch and Grafana dashboards, establishing alert thresholds aligned with release SLAs.
- Collaborate with mobile engineers to define API contracts and ensure infrastructure meets their latency requirements.
Must-have skills
- Extensive experience with AWS services (EKS, RDS, S3, CloudWatch).
- Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes for production workloads.
- Strong Terraform/IaC expertise and version‑controlled infrastructure.
- Deep knowledge of CI/CD tools, especially GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
- Ability to script in Bash/Python for automation tasks.

- Experience with Argo CD or Helm for advanced deployment patterns.
