About the role

Northbay Systems is preparing a new app store launch and needs a GraphQL API Developer to align mobile and backend services. You will shape the data layer that powers the upcoming mobile experience, ensuring fast, reliable queries and seamless integration with existing REST endpoints.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a GraphQL schema that mirrors core business entities.
• Integrate GraphQL resolvers with NodeJS services and existing REST APIs.
• Collaborate with mobile engineers to define query patterns and performance benchmarks.
• Write unit and integration tests to guarantee API stability.
• Document endpoints and usage guidelines for cross‑functional teams.

Must-have skills

• Proven experience building production GraphQL APIs.
• Strong NodeJS background and REST API knowledge.
• Ability to optimize queries for mobile bandwidth constraints.
• Excellent problem‑solving and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Apollo Server or similar tooling.
• Experience in mobile‑backend synchronization patterns.
