About the role

BlueSky Ventures is launching a new product suite and needs a Microservices Architect to lead a test automation uplift. The focus is on reducing regression risk before each launch by designing resilient, container‑based services and robust test pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and document microservice contracts and integration patterns.
• Implement Docker‑based environments and Kubernetes orchestration for test stacks.
• Create automated regression suites in Java, integrating with CI/CD tools.
• Collaborate with QA and development teams to embed testing into feature cycles.
• Monitor test coverage metrics and continuously improve reliability.

Must-have skills

• Proven experience architecting microservices in production.
• Strong command of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Java development expertise, especially for test automation.
• Ability to translate business risk into test scenarios.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with performance testing tools.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Knowledge of contract testing frameworks (Pact, WireMock).
