About the role

Summit Digital is launching a brand‑new greenfield SaaS product. We need a Microservices Architect to define the service landscape, set standards, and guide the remote‑first team through early development phases.

Key responsibilities

• Design a scalable microservices architecture aligned with domain‑driven principles
• Select and configure container orchestration (Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines
• Create API contracts, versioning strategy, and security guidelines
• Mentor engineers on best practices for Java services and Dockerization
• Collaborate with product owners to translate feature roadmaps into service backlogs

Must-have skills

• Proven experience designing and delivering microservice systems
• Deep knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes in production
• Strong Java development background, preferably with Spring Boot
• Ability to work autonomously in a fully remote environment

Nice to have

• Experience with event‑driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Understanding of observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana)
