About the role

BlueSky Ventures is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a PHP Developer to audit existing code, patch vulnerabilities, and implement best‑practice security controls while keeping performance intact.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive security reviews of PHP codebases and Laravel services.
• Implement input validation, output escaping, and secure authentication flows.
• Integrate security libraries and configure server‑side protections for MySQL.
• Collaborate with DevOps to enforce secure deployment pipelines.
• Document findings and provide remediation guides for the team.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of PHP development, primarily with Laravel.
• Deep understanding of OWASP Top 10 and secure coding patterns.
• Proficiency in MySQL schema hardening and query sanitization.
• Experience securing cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Nice to have

• Familiarity with automated security testing tools (e.g., Snyk, Brakeman).
• Knowledge of container security and CI/CD hardening.
