About the role

Vertex Analytics is preparing a high‑impact app store release and needs a PostgreSQL Administrator to ensure the data layer syncs perfectly with mobile backend services. You will join a cross‑functional squad focused on performance, reliability, and seamless data flow.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement replication strategies between PostgreSQL and MongoDB for mobile data caching.
• Optimize queries and indexes to support burst traffic during app launch.
• Automate backup, restore, and disaster‑recovery procedures.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to align schema changes with API versioning.
• Monitor replication lag and resolve latency issues in real time.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production environments.
• Deep knowledge of replication, partitioning, and tuning.
• Experience integrating PostgreSQL with MySQL and MongoDB.
• Proficiency with scripting (Bash/Python) for automation.
• Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud‑native PostgreSQL services (AWS RDS, GCP Cloud SQL).
• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines for database migrations.
• Background in mobile backend architectures.
