Node.js Developer Needed for Backend API Build Initiative

About the role

LumenWorks is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a Node.js Developer to shape the core backend services. You will work with a remote‑first team, turning product concepts into production‑ready APIs and micro‑services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable REST APIs using Node.js and Express
• Collaborate with product owners to define data models and service contracts
• Write automated tests and ensure code quality through CI pipelines
• Integrate third‑party services and handle authentication flows
• Document endpoints and contribute to architecture decisions

Must-have skills

• Proficiency in NodeJS, Express, and JavaScript
• Strong experience building REST API services
• Understanding of async programming and error handling
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Nice to have

• Familiarity with containerization (Docker)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Knowledge of CI/CD tooling
