About the role

AlphaEdge Tech is modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. We need a PostgreSQL Administrator to design and implement zero‑downtime migration strategies while keeping the current services stable.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and execute live schema changes with minimal impact
• Automate backup, replication, and failover processes
• Monitor performance metrics and tune queries for high‑throughput workloads
• Collaborate with developers to refactor data access patterns
• Document procedures and create runbooks for incident response

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production
• Deep knowledge of replication, partitioning, and indexing
• Experience with zero‑downtime migration tools (pglogical, pg_upgrade)
• Strong SQL debugging and query optimization skills

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MongoDB or MySQL environments
• Exposure to container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Automation scripting using Bash or Python
