About the role

Northbay Systems is undertaking a performance and reliability overhaul of its customer‑facing services. We need a Frontend React Developer to redesign critical UI paths, reduce load times, and ensure seamless interaction across browsers.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing React codebase for performance bottlenecks and refactor components.
• Implement lazy loading, code‑splitting, and memoization strategies.
• Collaborate with backend engineers to optimize data fetching and caching.
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to guarantee stability.
• Maintain UI consistency using a shared design system while improving accessibility.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of React development experience.
• Deep knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS3.
• Proven track record of performance tuning large‑scale web apps.
• Familiarity with modern build tools (Webpack, Vite) and CI pipelines.

Nice to have

• Experience with Next.js or Remix.
• Understanding of Web Vitals and Lighthouse metrics.
• Background in progressive web app (PWA) development.
