About the role

Vertex Analytics is launching a security hardening initiative for its suite of cloud‑hosted applications. We need a seasoned Java Developer to design, implement, and validate security controls that protect data in transit and at rest across our microservice architecture.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing services for security gaps and propose remediation strategies
• Integrate authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms using Spring Security
• Refactor vulnerable code paths and enforce secure coding standards
• Collaborate with DevOps to embed security checks into CI/CD pipelines
• Document findings, provide threat models, and deliver actionable reports

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of Java development experience
• Deep knowledge of Spring Boot and microservices patterns
• Proven expertise in application security, OWASP Top 10, and secure API design
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization

Nice to have

• Familiarity with automated security testing tools (Snyk, Checkmarx)
• Certification such as CISSP or Cloud Security Alliance
