About the role

Orbit Labs is launching a critical product and needs a Microservices Architect to lead a test automation uplift. You will design a resilient microservice ecosystem that reduces regression risk before launch, ensuring smooth delivery and rapid feedback.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and refactor microservices for testability and scalability
• Integrate automated test suites into CI pipelines
• Define contract‑first APIs and enforce versioning standards
• Collaborate with QA and DevOps to monitor test coverage and flakiness
• Document patterns and best practices for future teams

Must-have skills

• Deep experience designing microservice architectures
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes orchestration
• Strong Java development background
• Hands‑on test automation framework implementation (e.g., JUnit, TestNG, Selenium)

Nice to have

• Knowledge of contract testing tools like Pact
• Experience with cloud‑native monitoring (Prometheus, Grafana)
• Familiarity with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins
