About the role

LumenWorks is launching a performance and reliability overhaul of its customer‑facing services. We need a MongoDB Specialist on a project‑based engagement to redesign data models, fine‑tune queries, and implement robust sharding strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing MongoDB clusters and identify bottlenecks
• Redesign schemas for high‑throughput read/write patterns
• Implement indexing, aggregation pipelines, and sharding to improve latency
• Set up monitoring, alerting, and backup procedures
• Collaborate with frontend and backend teams to align data contracts

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of hands‑on MongoDB administration and development
• Deep knowledge of query optimization and performance tuning
• Experience with replica sets, sharding, and cloud‑hosted MongoDB
• Proficiency in JavaScript, NodeJS, and RESTful API integration

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker or Kubernetes deployments
• Background in CI/CD pipelines for database migrations
• Exposure to GraphQL or real‑time data streaming
