About the role

Cascade Apps is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a Node.js Developer who can diagnose bottlenecks, refactor critical code paths, and implement robust monitoring. This short‑term engagement focuses on delivering measurable latency reductions and higher uptime.

Key responsibilities

• Profile existing services to identify latency hotspots
• Rewrite performance‑critical modules using async patterns
• Implement caching, rate‑limiting, and circuit‑breaker logic
• Set up health checks, logging, and alerting for reliability
• Collaborate with QA to validate improvements in staging

Must-have skills

• Strong Node.js experience (NodeJS, Express)
• Deep understanding of JavaScript event loop and async code
• Design and consume REST APIs
• Proven track record of performance tuning in production

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker or container orchestration
• Experience with cloud monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for automated testing
