About the role

Ridgeline Software is modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. We need a PostgreSQL Administrator to design, implement, and oversee zero‑downtime migration strategies while keeping performance optimal.

Key responsibilities

• Audit current PostgreSQL architecture and identify bottlenecks.
• Plan and execute live schema changes with minimal impact.
• Automate backups, replication, and failover procedures.
• Collaborate with developers to refactor queries for modern workloads.
• Monitor health metrics and tune parameters in real time.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production.
• Deep knowledge of replication, sharding, and zero‑downtime upgrade techniques.
• Proficiency with Linux, Bash, and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Experience integrating PostgreSQL with MongoDB and MySQL ecosystems.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Background in performance benchmarking and query optimization.
