About the role

Cascade Apps is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a Python Backend Developer to shape the core services from day one. You will work with a remote‑first, cross‑functional team to design, build, and scale the backend that powers the platform.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement high‑performance REST APIs using Django
• Design database schemas and write efficient queries in PostgreSQL
• Integrate third‑party services and internal micro‑services
• Write automated tests and ensure code quality through CI pipelines
• Collaborate with frontend, product, and DevOps engineers on feature delivery

Must-have skills

• Strong Python experience with Django framework
• Proficiency building RESTful APIs
• Solid understanding of PostgreSQL and relational modeling
• Experience with version control (Git) and agile workflows

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Exposure to message queues or event‑driven architectures
