Key Responsibilities
- Edit, retouch, and enhance photographs to meet the company's high visual standards.
- Collaborate with designers, art directors, and journalists to conceptualize and create visually stunning content.
- Retouch and manipulate images using Photoshop and other image editing software.
- Ensure all images meet the required technical specifications and formatting for print and digital media.
- Manage and maintain a comprehensive image library, ensuring accurate categorization, tagging, and metadata.
- Develop and maintain a keen eye for detail, ensuring high-quality images that meet the company's visual brand identity.
- Collaborate with external photographers, studios, and agencies to commission and source high-quality images.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in photo editing and visual storytelling.
- Work closely with the design team to create engaging and effective visual content for social media and online platforms.
- Contribute to the development of the company's visual style and brand identity, ensuring consistency across all media platforms.
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines, prioritizing tasks and meeting tight timelines in a fast-paced environment.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to junior team members and interns, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance the team's capabilities.
- Participate in creative brainstorming sessions, contributing ideas and concepts for new projects and initiatives.
Requirements
- Proficiency in Photoshop, with advanced knowledge of its tools, features, and capabilities.
- Strong understanding of graphic design principles, color theory, and visual composition.
- Excellent attention to detail, with a keen eye for quality and consistency.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure, meeting tight deadlines and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and outside the box.
- Proficiency in other image editing software, such as Lightroom and Illustrator, is desirable.
- Certification in graphic design or a related field is an asset, but not essential.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in photo editing, preferably in a publishing or media environment.
- Strong portfolio of work, showcasing your creative vision and technical skills in photo editing.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, to meet project deadlines.
