About the role

BlueSky Ventures is building a next‑generation smart device platform that connects sensors, gateways and cloud services. As an IoT Solutions Architect you will design end‑to‑end architecture, define communication protocols and ensure secure, scalable data flows across the ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Design and document IoT system architecture, including edge, network and cloud layers.
• Select and integrate appropriate communication protocols (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP).
• Define security models for device authentication, data encryption and access control.
• Collaborate with firmware, backend and DevOps teams to align implementation with architectural standards.
• Develop proof‑of‑concept deployments and performance benchmarks.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.

Must-have skills

• Deep expertise in Linux server administration and networking.
• Extensive experience with Python and JavaScript for IoT services.
• Strong knowledge of REST API design and integration.
• Proven track record designing scalable, secure IoT solutions.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools.

Nice to have

• Experience with edge computing frameworks.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure IoT services.
