Senior Database Administrator Needed for Query Plan Overhaul

About the role

AlphaEdge Tech is launching a high‑velocity CI/CD and platform automation sprint to accelerate release cycles. As a senior Database Administrator you will own the data layer for the new RapidDeploy Engine, ensuring schema stability, performance, and seamless integration with automated pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement automated database migration scripts using Flyway for PostgreSQL and MySQL within the CI/CD pipeline.
• Configure and tune MongoDB clusters for zero‑downtime deployments in Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with DevOps to embed health checks and rollback mechanisms into the RapidDeploy Engine.
• Monitor query performance with pg_stat_statements and Percona Toolkit, delivering weekly optimization reports.
• Document schema changes and version control procedures in Git, aligning with sprint milestones.

Must-have skills

• Deep expertise in PostgreSQL and MySQL administration.
• Proven experience with MongoDB sharding and replication.
• Strong command of Linux environments and shell scripting.
• Hands‑on knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
• Ability to write and maintain migration scripts and DBA automation.

Nice to have

• Experience with Terraform or Ansible for infrastructure as code.
• Familiarity with monitoring stacks like Prometheus/Grafana.
