About the role

NexGen Media is modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. As a Microservices Architect you will design a zero‑downtime migration path and define the target microservice ecosystem.

Key responsibilities

• Architect a decomposed, container‑based system that replaces monolithic services
• Define API contracts, data ownership, and event‑driven communication patterns
• Create a rollout strategy with blue‑green and canary deployments to guarantee zero impact
• Collaborate with dev, ops, and QA teams to align on CI/CD pipelines and observability
• Document architectural decisions, standards, and migration runbooks

Must-have skills

• Deep experience designing microservice architectures for large‑scale systems
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and Java‑based services
• Strong understanding of zero‑downtime deployment techniques
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps

Nice to have

• Experience with Istio or service mesh technologies
• Familiarity with event streaming platforms such as Kafka
• Background in legacy system refactoring and data migration
