About the role
We are revamping the performance and reliability of our customer‑facing services. As a MongoDB Specialist you will lead the redesign of data access patterns, index strategies, and sharding configurations to ensure low latency and high availability under peak loads.
Key responsibilities
- Analyze current query performance and identify bottlenecks
- Design and implement optimal indexing and aggregation pipelines
- Configure replica sets and sharding to improve fault tolerance
- Collaborate with backend engineers to refactor data models for scalability
- Set up monitoring, alerts, and automated health checks for MongoDB clusters
Must-have skills
- 5+ years of hands‑on MongoDB administration and tuning
- Deep understanding of replication, sharding, and backup strategies
- Proficiency with performance profiling tools and query plan analysis
- Experience integrating MongoDB with Node.js services
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Kubernetes‑based MongoDB deployments
- Knowledge of cloud provider managed MongoDB services
- Experience with data migration and schema evolution
