Senior PostgreSQL Administrator – Production Database Architecture

About the role

LumenWorks is expanding a B2B SaaS product with a new multi‑tenant feature set. We need a PostgreSQL Administrator who can design, tune, and secure databases that serve dozens of isolated tenants while maintaining high performance.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement schema changes for tenant isolation
• Optimize queries and indexes for mixed workloads across PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL
• Set up automated backup, restore, and point‑in‑time recovery pipelines
• Monitor replication health and resolve cross‑region latency issues
• Collaborate with developers to embed data‑access best practices into CI/CD

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production
• Deep knowledge of multi‑tenant design patterns
• Experience with performance tuning, partitioning, and sharding
• Proficiency in scripting (Bash, Python) for automation
• Strong understanding of data security and GDPR compliance

Nice to have

• Hands‑on with MongoDB and MySQL administration
• Familiarity with cloud‑native services (AWS RDS, GCP CloudSQL)
• Experience using Terraform or Ansible for DB provisioning
