About the role

We are modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. The contract focuses on rebuilding critical services as robust, zero‑downtime REST APIs while preserving existing traffic.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement new API endpoints in NodeJS to replace legacy code.
• Ensure zero‑downtime deployments using blue‑green or canary strategies.
• Integrate PostgreSQL schemas, write performant queries, and migrate data safely.
• Write unit and integration tests, and maintain CI pipelines.
• Collaborate with ops and QA to monitor performance and resolve issues quickly.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years building production‑grade REST APIs.
• Deep expertise in NodeJS, JavaScript (ES6+), and PostgreSQL.
• Experience with zero‑downtime deployment patterns.
• Strong debugging and performance‑tuning skills.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker/Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of API gateway solutions.
• Background in legacy system refactoring.
