Senior REST API Developer Needed for REST Layer Refactor

About the role

NexGen Media is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a REST API Developer to reinforce authentication, enforce least‑privilege access, and integrate security controls into existing services.

Key responsibilities

• Audit and refactor existing REST endpoints for OWASP compliance
• Implement token‑based authentication and role‑based authorization
• Integrate security logging and monitoring hooks
• Collaborate with DevOps to apply infrastructure‑as‑code security policies
• Write automated tests covering security edge cases

Must-have skills

• Proven experience building and securing REST APIs
• Strong NodeJS and JavaScript expertise
• Hands‑on with PostgreSQL schema design and query hardening
• Familiarity with cloud security best practices (AWS/GCP)
• Ability to produce clean, documented code quickly

Nice to have

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated security scans
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
