DevOps Engineer – Infrastructure Setup Overhaul

About the role

NexGen Media is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a DevOps Engineer to design, implement, and validate hardened infrastructure that meets compliance standards while keeping deployment pipelines smooth.

Key responsibilities

• Audit existing AWS environments for security gaps and document findings
• Implement automated hardening scripts using Terraform and Ansible
• Integrate security scans into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Snyk, Trivy)
• Configure Kubernetes pod security policies and network policies
• Collaborate with developers to remediate vulnerabilities in container images
• Provide concise runbooks for incident response and recovery

Must-have skills

• Strong experience with AWS security services (IAM, GuardDuty, Config)
• Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes hardening practices
• Hands‑on CI/CD pipeline automation (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
• Infrastructure as Code expertise (Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Solid scripting skills (Bash, Python)

Nice to have

• Certifications such as AWS Security Specialty or CKA
• Familiarity with compliance frameworks (PCI‑DSS, SOC 2)
• Experience with secret management tools (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager)
