About the role

Harbor Softworks is building a real‑time analytics layer for its operations teams. As a Python Backend Developer you will create and extend the "PulseStream" data pipeline, turning raw event streams into actionable dashboards. The project focuses on enabling fast, reliable analytics that power daily decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement ETL jobs in Python using Apache Airflow to ingest operational logs.
• Develop RESTful services that expose aggregated metrics to internal BI tools.
• Containerize pipeline components with Docker and orchestrate them on Kubernetes.
• Optimize PostgreSQL schemas and write performant SQL for time‑series queries.
• Set up monitoring with Prometheus and Grafana to track pipeline latency and error rates.
• Collaborate with data engineers to define data quality checks and automated testing pipelines.

Must-have skills

• Strong Python programming (3+ years) with experience in data processing libraries.
• Proficient in PostgreSQL schema design and query optimization.
• Hands‑on experience building REST APIs (FastAPI or Flask).
• Docker containerization and basic Kubernetes knowledge.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and version control (Git).

Nice to have

• Experience with Apache Airflow or similar workflow managers.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) for data services.
