REST API Developer – Customer-Facing System Integration

About the role

Northbay Systems is modernizing its release workflow by adding automated regression tests for its core services. We need a REST API Developer to design and implement test‑automation hooks that reduce launch risk and improve confidence in every deployment.

Key responsibilities

• Build robust REST endpoints that trigger and report automated test suites
• Integrate test frameworks with CI pipelines to run regression suites on every push
• Collaborate with QA and product owners to prioritize high‑impact test scenarios
• Document API contracts and provide usage examples for internal teams
• Monitor test results, troubleshoot failures, and suggest stability improvements

Must-have skills

• Strong experience designing and consuming REST APIs
• Proficiency in NodeJS and JavaScript for server‑side development
• Hands‑on knowledge of PostgreSQL for data‑driven test cases
• Understanding of test automation principles and CI/CD integration

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Jest, Mocha or similar testing libraries
• Experience with Docker containers for isolated test environments
• Background in performance testing or load simulation
