About the role

BlueSky Ventures is building a real‑time analytics platform to support its growing portfolio of SaaS products. We need a senior Data Engineer to design and implement robust data pipelines that ingest, transform, and store high‑volume event streams for downstream reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and develop scalable ETL pipelines using Python and AWS services.
• Design data models in PostgreSQL and MySQL to optimize query performance.
• Implement data quality checks and monitoring dashboards.
• Collaborate with analytics and product teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure pipelines are secure, fault‑tolerant, and cost‑effective.

Must-have skills

• Advanced Python programming for data processing.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and MySQL databases.
• Proficiency in AWS data services (Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda).
• Deep understanding of data modeling and schema design.
• Hands‑on experience with workflow orchestration tools.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with streaming platforms such as Kafka.
• Exposure to containerization (Docker) for pipeline deployment.
