Senior Node.js Developer for Queue Worker Setup

About the role

NexGen Media is launching a security hardening initiative for its suite of cloud‑hosted applications. We need a Node.js Developer who can assess, design, and implement robust security controls across our services. The work will focus on threat modeling, secure coding practices, and automated security testing.

Key responsibilities

• Perform code reviews to identify and remediate security vulnerabilities in existing Node.js services.
• Implement authentication, authorization, and input validation mechanisms using industry‑standard libraries.
• Integrate security scanning tools into CI/CD pipelines and address findings.
• Collaborate with DevOps to enforce least‑privilege IAM policies for cloud resources.
• Document security guidelines and provide knowledge transfer to the internal team.

Must-have skills

• Strong experience with Node.js and Express.
• Deep understanding of OWASP Top 10 and secure API design.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, REST API development, and unit testing.
• Hands‑on experience securing cloud‑native applications (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

Nice to have

• Familiarity with container security (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with automated security testing tools (Snyk, OWASP ZAP).
• Knowledge of CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
