About the role

Summit Digital is launching a greenfield SaaS product called NimbusDesk, a collaborative workspace for remote teams. We need an Android Developer to build the native client from the ground up, shaping the user experience and core functionality for a fast‑growing, remote‑first audience.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement the NimbusDesk Android app using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
• Integrate RESTful services with Retrofit, handling authentication, real‑time updates, and offline caching.
• Set up CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions for automated builds, unit tests, and Play Store beta releases.
• Collaborate with UI/UX designers to translate Figma prototypes into responsive, pixel‑perfect screens.
• Write comprehensive unit and UI tests with JUnit and Espresso to achieve 80%+ test coverage.
• Monitor app performance with Firebase Crashlytics and Android Profiler, fixing bottlenecks before the MVP demo.

Must-have skills

• Strong Kotlin expertise and Android SDK knowledge.
• Experience with Jetpack libraries (Compose, Navigation, Room).
• Proficient in REST API consumption and JSON parsing.
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub Actions, and Play Store publishing.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code and unit tests.

Nice to have

• Background in building SaaS mobile clients.
• Exposure to Firebase services (Auth, Cloud Messaging).
