About the role

Ridgeline Software is building a real‑time analytics layer for its operations teams. As a Java Developer you will create and extend the "PulseStream" data pipeline, turning raw event streams into actionable insights. The project focuses on delivering reliable, low‑latency data flows and dashboards that empower decision‑makers.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement Java micro‑services that ingest, transform, and store operational event data.
• Integrate Apache Kafka and Flink for streaming ingestion and windowed aggregations.
• Develop RESTful endpoints for analytics UI consumption, using Spring Boot and OpenAPI.
• Write automated unit and integration tests with JUnit and Testcontainers to ensure pipeline stability.
• Collaborate with data engineers to model MySQL schemas optimized for time‑series queries.
• Monitor performance metrics in Grafana and tune JVM settings for sub‑second latency.

Must-have skills

• Strong Java (8+) development experience, especially with Spring Boot.
• Proficiency in building REST APIs and working with JSON.
• Hands‑on experience with MySQL schema design and query optimization.
• Familiarity with streaming platforms such as Kafka or similar.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and Docker containerization.

Nice to have

• Experience with Flink or Spark Structured Streaming.
• Understanding of cloud‑native monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
