Node.js Developer for Auth Service Build Overhaul

About the role

Orbit Labs is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a Node.js Developer to shape the core backend. You will work with a remote-first team, turning early concepts into production‑ready services.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable REST APIs using Node.js and Express
• Collaborate with product and UI teams to define data contracts
• Write unit and integration tests to ensure reliability
• Optimize performance and monitor services in a cloud environment
• Document API endpoints and onboarding guides for future developers

Must-have skills

• Strong proficiency in NodeJS and Express
• Solid JavaScript fundamentals and async patterns
• Experience building REST API services
• Ability to work independently in a remote setup

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker or containerization
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
