About the role

Vertex Analytics is preparing a new app store launch and needs a Python Backend Developer to align mobile and backend services. You will design and implement APIs that power real‑time features, ensuring smooth data flow between the app and our analytics platform.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain high‑performance RESTful APIs using Django.
• Integrate PostgreSQL schemas optimized for mobile data sync.
• Collaborate with mobile engineers to define contract interfaces and error handling.
• Write unit and integration tests, and enforce code quality standards.
• Monitor API health, troubleshoot latency issues, and propose performance improvements.

Must-have skills

• Strong Python programming experience (3+ years).
• Deep knowledge of Django framework and REST API design.
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL, including indexing and query optimization.
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI pipelines.

Nice to have

• Experience with Docker or container orchestration.
• Understanding of mobile app lifecycle and background data sync.
• Exposure to async programming (asyncio, Celery).
