Python Backend Developer – Secure System Integration

About the role

BrightMart Solutions is launching a security hardening initiative for its cloud‑hosted applications. We need a Python Backend Developer to design, implement, and audit security controls within our existing services. This part‑time contract focuses on tightening authentication, data protection, and intrusion detection mechanisms.

Key responsibilities

• Review and refactor existing Django code to meet security best practices
• Implement robust REST API authentication and authorization flows
• Integrate encryption at rest and in transit for PostgreSQL data stores
• Conduct threat modeling and produce mitigation plans for identified risks
• Collaborate with DevOps to enforce secure CI/CD pipelines

Must-have skills

• Strong Python and Django experience
• Design and secure REST APIs
• Proficiency with PostgreSQL and query hardening
• Understanding of OWASP Top 10 and cloud security concepts

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS security services (IAM, KMS, GuardDuty)
• Familiarity with container security tools
• Previous work on security audits for SaaS platforms
