About the role
Northbay Systems is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs an Android Developer to shape the mobile experience from day one. You will work with a remote‑first team, translating product vision into a high‑performance Android app that scales with user growth.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement core app architecture using Kotlin and Java
- Integrate RESTful APIs and real‑time services securely
- Write unit, UI, and integration tests to ensure reliability
- Collaborate with product, design, and backend engineers via async channels
- Optimize app performance, battery usage, and memory management
Must-have skills
- 5+ years Android development experience
- Deep knowledge of Kotlin, Java, Android SDK, and Jetpack libraries
- Proficiency with MVVM, Coroutines, and modern build tools
- Experience delivering apps to Google Play Store
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Compose UI
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines for mobile
- Exposure to cloud services like Firebase or AWS
