About the role

Harbor Softworks is scaling its flagship analytics platform and needs a senior Database Administrator to lead a test automation uplift aimed at slashing regression risk before each major release. You will own the data layer for the new "RegressGuard" module, ensuring schema stability and performance while the QA team builds automated validation pipelines.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement automated schema validation scripts using Python and pgTAP for PostgreSQL.
• Integrate database state snapshots into CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins and GitLab CI.
• Collaborate with QA engineers to define data‑driven test cases for MySQL and MongoDB workloads.
• Optimize query performance and index strategies to keep test suite runtimes under 10 minutes.
• Document migration procedures and rollback plans for each sprint milestone.

Must-have skills

• 10+ years managing PostgreSQL and MySQL in high‑availability environments.
• Strong scripting experience (Python/Bash) for test automation.
• Hands‑on expertise with MongoDB replication and sharding.
• Linux system administration and performance tuning.

Nice to have

• Experience with containerized databases (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with test frameworks such as dbFit or TestContainers.
