About the role

BlueSky Ventures is launching a data pipeline to feed real‑time analytics for its operations teams. We need a Database Administrator to design, implement, and fine‑tune the underlying databases that will power this pipeline.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and deploy PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL instances for high‑throughput ingestion.
• Build ETL processes and automate data flows between source systems and analytics layers.
• Implement monitoring, backup, and disaster‑recovery strategies.
• Optimize query performance and index strategies for analytics workloads.
• Collaborate with data engineers and analysts to ensure schema alignment.

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and MySQL in production.
• Strong grasp of data pipeline concepts and ETL tooling.
• Experience with performance tuning and scalability planning.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python/ Bash) for automation.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with cloud database services (AWS RDS, Azure Cosmos).
• Knowledge of containerized database deployments.
