About the role
CoreData Systems is modernizing its data backbone for a high‑stakes product launch. As a Database Administrator you will lead a test‑automation uplift aimed at slashing regression risk before go‑live. The effort focuses on building repeatable validation pipelines for schema changes, data migrations, and performance baselines.
Key responsibilities
- Design and implement automated regression test suites using pgTAP and dbt for PostgreSQL and MySQL environments.
- Integrate test pipelines into the CI/CD workflow with Jenkins and GitLab CI, ensuring nightly runs and failure alerts.
- Develop data‑validation scripts for MongoDB collections using JavaScript and Mocha, covering data integrity and index performance.
- Collaborate with QA engineers to define test cases that reflect real‑world transaction scenarios.
- Document test results, maintain a dashboard in Grafana, and provide actionable insights to developers.
- Conduct a final risk assessment report before the product launch, highlighting any remaining data‑related gaps.
Must-have skills
- Advanced PostgreSQL administration, including replication and backup strategies.
- MySQL performance tuning and schema version control.
- MongoDB sharding, indexing, and data consistency verification.
- Proficiency with Linux (Ubuntu/CentOS) server environments.
- Experience building database test automation with tools such as pgTAP, dbt, or similar.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with containerized database deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
