About the role
Harbor Softworks is modernizing a legacy production platform that must stay online 24/7. We need a Java Developer – Platform Modernization to redesign core services, improve scalability, and implement zero‑downtime deployment patterns.
Key responsibilities
- Refactor monolithic Java code into Spring Boot microservices
- Design and implement API contracts that support live traffic migration
- Set up CI/CD pipelines with blue‑green or canary releases
- Collaborate with ops to instrument health checks and automated rollbacks
- Write unit, integration, and performance tests to guarantee reliability
Must-have skills
- 5+ years of Java development experience
- Deep knowledge of Spring Boot and microservice architecture
- Experience with zero‑downtime deployment strategies
- Proficiency in Docker and Kubernetes basics
Nice to have
- Familiarity with legacy mainframe integration
- Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus or Grafana
