About the role

BlueSky Ventures is launching a new platform and needs a Microservices Architect to lead a test automation uplift. The goal is to lower regression risk before the public launch by designing robust, scalable services and integrating automated test suites.

Key responsibilities

• Design and refactor microservice boundaries to support automated testing
• Implement CI pipelines that trigger end‑to‑end test runs on each deployment
• Collaborate with QA engineers to define test coverage metrics
• Guide the team on container orchestration best practices for test environments
• Document architecture decisions and testing strategies

Must-have skills

• Deep experience designing microservice architectures
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes in production
• Strong Java development background
• Hands‑on knowledge of test automation frameworks and CI/CD tools

Nice to have

• Experience with contract‑testing tools such as Pact
• Familiarity with performance testing in cloud environments
