About the role

Northbay Systems is expanding its data pipeline and analytics enablement for operations teams. We need a Microservices Architect to design scalable services that feed real‑time insights to downstream tools.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement microservice APIs for ingesting operational data streams
• Orchestrate containerized services using Docker and Kubernetes
• Define data contracts and ensure versioned compatibility across services
• Collaborate with analytics engineers to expose clean data endpoints
• Establish monitoring, logging, and fault‑tolerance patterns

Must-have skills

• Proven experience building microservice architectures in Java
• Strong command of Docker and Kubernetes for deployment
• Deep understanding of data pipeline concepts and event‑driven design
• Ability to write clean, testable code and documentation

Nice to have

• Familiarity with stream processing frameworks (e.g., Kafka, Flink)
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for microservice delivery
