About the role
We are revamping the performance and reliability of our customer‑facing services. The MongoDB Specialist will lead the redesign of data access patterns, index strategies, and replication setups to ensure low latency and high availability for a growing user base.
Key responsibilities
- Audit existing MongoDB schemas and query performance across all services.
- Design and implement sharding, indexing, and caching solutions tailored to workload spikes.
- Collaborate with backend engineers to refactor data models for optimal read/write balance.
- Set up monitoring, alerting, and automated failover procedures.
- Document best practices and provide knowledge transfer to the internal team.
Must-have skills
- 5+ years of hands‑on MongoDB administration and optimization.
- Deep understanding of replication, sharding, and transaction handling.
- Proficiency in JavaScript/NodeJS ecosystems for scripting and automation.
- Experience with performance profiling tools and CI/CD pipelines.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with cloud‑native MongoDB services (Atlas, Cosmos DB).
- Knowledge of container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes) for database deployment.
