About the role

We are modernizing a high‑traffic legacy production platform with a zero‑downtime requirement. The Python Backend Developer will design and implement new services while safely migrating existing functionality.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor monolithic code into clean, testable Django modules
• Build high‑performance REST APIs backed by PostgreSQL
• Implement feature flags and blue‑green deployments to ensure zero‑downtime releases
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests
• Collaborate with DevOps to automate CI/CD pipelines

Must-have skills

• Strong Python expertise with Django framework
• Design and consumption of RESTful APIs
• Proficiency in PostgreSQL schema design and optimization
• Experience with zero‑downtime migration strategies

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of async programming (asyncio, Celery)
• Background in legacy system modernization projects
