About the role

Silverline Labs is undertaking a performance and reliability overhaul of its customer‑facing services. We need a Python Backend Developer who can redesign critical APIs, optimise database interactions, and ensure high‑throughput stability under load.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor existing Python services for latency reduction and scalability
• Design and implement robust RESTful endpoints using Django
• Profile and tune PostgreSQL queries, add indexing and caching where needed
• Write comprehensive unit and integration tests to guarantee reliability
• Collaborate with DevOps to integrate monitoring and alerting

Must-have skills

• 5+ years of Python backend development
• Deep experience with Django and REST API design
• Strong PostgreSQL optimisation and schema design skills
• Proficiency in writing automated tests and CI pipelines

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Docker and container orchestration
• Experience with performance profiling tools
• Knowledge of async Python frameworks
