About the role

Summit Digital is building a next‑generation e‑commerce platform and needs a Microservices Architect to lead a test automation uplift that will slash regression risk before each launch. You will design the automation framework for the new "PulseGuard" module, ensuring seamless integration with existing services.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement a CI‑integrated test automation suite for PulseGuard using Java, TestNG and Docker containers.
• Define contract‑first API specifications and generate mock services for early integration testing.
• Collaborate with DevOps to embed automated smoke and regression tests into Kubernetes‑based deployment pipelines.
• Set performance thresholds and create load‑testing scripts with JMeter to validate scalability of microservices.
• Mentor the QA team on best practices for service virtualization and test data management.
• Deliver a quarterly risk‑assessment report highlighting regression coverage gaps and mitigation plans.

Must-have skills

• Deep experience designing microservice architectures on Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in Java and REST API design patterns.
• Strong background in Docker containerization and orchestration.
• Extensive knowledge of test automation frameworks (TestNG, JUnit, Selenium).
• Hands‑on CI/CD pipeline creation using Jenkins or GitLab CI.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with contract testing tools like Pact.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP) for scalable test environments.
