About the role

Northbay Systems is revamping the performance and reliability of its customer‑facing services. We need a GraphQL API Developer to redesign core endpoints, improve latency, and ensure high availability across traffic spikes.

Key responsibilities

• Refactor existing GraphQL schemas for optimal query resolution
• Implement caching layers and rate‑limiting strategies
• Integrate with existing REST services and migrate critical paths to GraphQL
• Write automated performance tests and monitor key metrics
• Collaborate with frontend teams to align data contracts

Must-have skills

• Deep experience with GraphQL server implementation
• Proficiency in NodeJS and building scalable back‑ends
• Strong understanding of REST API patterns and integration
• Experience optimizing latency and throughput in production

Nice to have

• Familiarity with React data consumption patterns
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines for API deployment
