About the role

Pinnacle Works is launching a new microservices platform for real‑time data processing. We need an architect to design, implement, and guide the deployment of scalable services that meet performance and reliability goals.

Key responsibilities

• Define service boundaries, APIs, and data contracts
• Design containerised solutions using Docker and orchestrate with Kubernetes
• Lead code reviews and enforce best practices in Java development
• Collaborate with product and DevOps teams to ensure seamless CI/CD pipelines
• Document architecture decisions and provide mentorship to engineers

Must-have skills

• Deep experience designing and delivering microservices architectures
• Proficiency with Docker, Kubernetes, and Java ecosystems
• Strong understanding of REST, gRPC, and event‑driven communication
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus or Grafana
• Knowledge of security best practices for distributed systems
