About the role

Pinecrest Systems is launching a greenfield SaaS product and needs a PostgreSQL Administrator to design, deploy, and maintain the core data platform. You will work with a remote‑first team, shaping database architecture from day one and ensuring high availability for a fast‑growing user base.

Key responsibilities

• Architect and implement PostgreSQL clusters for a new SaaS service
• Automate provisioning, backups, and disaster‑recovery procedures
• Monitor performance, tune queries, and optimize storage
• Collaborate with developers to design efficient schemas and indexing strategies
• Establish security policies, role‑based access, and audit logging

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production environments
• Strong SQL proficiency and query optimization expertise
• Experience with Linux, scripting (Bash/Python) and automation tools
• Knowledge of replication, sharding, and high‑availability setups

Nice to have

• Familiarity with MongoDB or MySQL migrations
• Hands‑on with container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes)
• Background in CI/CD pipeline integration for database changes
