About the role

Cascade Apps is preparing a major app store release and needs a PostgreSQL Administrator to ensure the database layer aligns perfectly with mobile and backend services. You will tune performance, secure data pipelines, and support rapid feature rollout.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement replication and failover strategies for high‑availability
• Optimize queries and indexes for mobile‑centric workloads
• Collaborate with backend engineers to integrate PostgreSQL with API services
• Automate backup, restore, and monitoring processes
• Conduct security audits and apply patches promptly

Must-have skills

• 5+ years managing PostgreSQL in production
• Strong SQL tuning and schema design expertise
• Experience with Linux server administration
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for database changes

Nice to have

• Knowledge of MongoDB or MySQL for hybrid data solutions
• Experience with containerized databases (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Understanding of mobile data synchronization patterns
